HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL DRILLING
Since 1997, Sandy’s Hauling & Backhoe Service has been installing utilities by trenchless methods. The typical method for installing utilities is by open trench however in some instances due to existing utilities or obstacles such as rivers, wetland areas, railways, or highways that is not feasible.

We specialize in trenchless methods of installing utilities by horizontal directional drilling methods. There are many benefits of horizontal directional drilling such as less surface disruption, less invasive than open cut methods, requires a relatively short set up and drilling time, and can be monitored to make deep installations to avoid surface obstacles.

We have performed hundreds of horizontal directional drills for many municipalities across the state of North Carolina from 2-inch up to 48-inch in diameter. The two main types of pipe we use when horizontal directional drilling are High Density Polyethylene Pipe (HDPE) and Fusible PVC. Please contact us for more information regarding horizontal directional drilling operations.
